Trustee

Trustee leadership and good governance is at the heart of Bristol Law Centre, and our Board members play a vital role leading the organisation and ensuring we deliver our charitable objectives. The Board of Trustees has overall responsibility for the strategy, vision and good running of the organisation, appointing and working closely with the Chief Executive and staff team to drive us forward. We’re here to make sure the Centre is still here in 50 years’ time, but also that we are providing outstanding support right now to the people who need us most.

We wish to grow and refresh our membership and are seeking to appoint up to five additional trustees. We’re open to anyone who has a passion for the work we do supporting the most vulnerable, and/or for helping charities to succeed. In particular, we would be very keen to hear from:

• people with a connection to the communities we serve in Bristol and the wider region

• people with confidence in fundraising, communications, networking and building relationships that can help the organisation

• people with experience of charity governance

• people with specialist financial skills and experience

• people with HR skills and knowledge

• People of colour and people with disabilities are under-represented on our Board and applications are particularly encouraged from those groups.

Whilst we hope trustees will feel comfortable to bring their whole self to their work with us, we expect all members of our Board to consider inclusion in all aspects of what we do, and do not expect individuals to represent specific groups or demographics.
