Equality and Employment Law Centre is a niche Law Centre and has an exciting opportunity for a law graduate or paralegal to join our solicitor apprenticeship programme. You will work with a dynamic and friendly team based in Liverpool City Centre.
The post has the intention of providing the successful candidate with a real opportunity to progress towards qualification as a solicitor whether you are at the very start of your career or have already embarked on a legal career.
We are looking for a diligent paralegal or law graduate with a professional outlook and a keen interest in social justice to join our busy team of lawyers. You will be passionate about access to justice and committed to a career as a solicitor. You will need to show that you are a resilient individual, with the drive and determination to succeed for our clients.
Legally this is a very interesting and worthwhile position within the Law Centres movement. This will give the right person an exciting opportunity to work in well-established organisation and become a qualified solicitor through our apprenticeship programme.

The apprenticeship programme offers aspiring solicitors an alternative path to qualification. You will earn while you learn, gaining valuable experience from day one with no university fees to pay.
It is a great alternative to studying full-time at university if you wish to pursue a career in law without having to take out a student loan. You’ll earn your qualification through a combination of workplace learning and part-time study over a period of up to six years, depending on your experience and qualifications. At the end of the programme, you will have the same level of qualification as trainee solicitors who qualify through the traditional University route. It combines practical experience in the workplace with a formal study. You will go to work and receive a full-time salary and get valuable, real-life legal experience enhancing your commercial understanding and growing your confidence in a legal work environment.
All your tuition fees will be paid, and you will earn a salary while you are training.
As an apprentice, you will gain the professional solicitor qualification that will demonstrate your commercial legal ability, client service experience, ethical behaviour and commitment to lifelong learning and development. You will spend 4 days in the workplace and 1-day formal learning with The University of Law, the education provider we have chosen to work with, you will develop your teamwork, presenting and time-management skills and earn an LLB (Hons) Legal Practice qualification.
Applicants will need to be strong communicators and have the skills to engage with a wide range of people in a clear, supportive, and effective way. You will be extremely well organized with high level problem-solving skills with the ability to manage your time effectively and pay attention to detail. Driven to contribute to the centre’s continued success, focussed on quality and excellent client care is a must. You will be committed to working effectively within an interdependent team building, success by gaining the co-operations of others. You will have a positive outlook and can-do attitude.
This role starts April 2022 with the first six months’ a probationary period before embarking on the formal Solicitors Apprenticeship Course in either September or February depending on qualifications and experience.
Salary: £17,356
Working hours: 35 per week
